My name's Mike and I'm a photographer. Originally from West Cumbria, I moved to Newcastle in 1989 to study at Newcastle University. I've never looked back.
For over 30 years I was a scientist working in the nuclear and biopharmaceutical industries and, for the majority of my professional career, academic research.
Although it was never a true hobby, I enjoyed photography when I was younger. This changed during the pandemic when I went out on the bike and ended up stopping more often than not to take a picture of something that caught my eye. This resulted in an almost doubling of the time I was out. I'd caught the bug and so bought my first digital camera.
Since then, I've expanded my portfolio and hand-picked a number of my favourites. Take some time and explore my gallery; you never know, you may find the perfect picture to enhance your home. Whatever you're looking for, take your time and choose the piece of art that speaks to you.
